My friend decided to get a tattoo of four Chinese symbols. She wanted strength, karma, respect, and loyalty. She showed her tattoo to a few waiters in Chinatown and learned their true meanings. I shit you not, the symbols are as follows: power, prey (like the opposite of predator), macho, and loyalty.
When the waiter couldn’t think of the word for “prey” he substituted “small cow.”
